Shorrock Pacific Ventures is a consulting business established to help people and companies create the products that educate, entertain and bring value to the world.
Why work with me? My jobs have been creative in nature, related to making or bringing digital products to schools or people playing at home. I began managing people early in my career and have been described as earnest and sincere in my desire to succeed with others. I have always been forward-thinking and looked for work based on social, technical, educational and entertainment trends of the day - from the early PC era, to gaming consoles, evolving into internet delivery of content to a multiplicity of electronic devices. Working with people who are structural, analytical, innovative and social required me to be perceptive, tactful and supportive to the people and teams that reported to me. I thrive on working with others and helping them accomplish their dreams.

Fate smiled on me the day I was born in Tokyo Japan! My parents were missionary educators and my brothers and sisters and I had the privilege to grow up in Tokyo, with years also spent in Seoul, Korea, Geneva, Switzerland, and New Haven, Connecticut. Ultimately, my family moved to Santa Barbara, California where I spent my high school years.
I studied Japanese at the University of California, Santa Cruz and majored in Politics and East Asian Studies. Politics is nothing more than the study of problems and solving them, (common to game development), and my understanding of Japanese culture catapulted my career into high gear at Broderbund Software, where Broderbund formed a JV with 11 Japanese companies to bring PC games to the US market. From there I got recruited to Sega Enterprises which lead to lifetime friendships and years in gaming, starting with the Genesis years, through the Sega Channel (games over satellite & cable) and then with Sega Toys when I was with Leapfrog making interactive educational reading books to teach English.
Perhaps my greatest reward working has been knowing that I succeeded in delivering well over one million Leapads into the Japanese consumer market!
If you are looking for help to break into the Japanese consumer market, please let me know.
Thank you to Shinobu Toyoda, (Chairman of Unity Japan, formerly Executive VP Sega of America), Dai Sakurai (Retired Managing Director of Sega Toys), Kenji Yokozeki (VP, Development, Sega Toys) pictured here with me.
